UA 28-year-old man was arrested in flagrante delicto due to strong evidence of the crime of drug trafficking at Madeira Airport.

The arrest occurred following “a police operation carried out” at that airport, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement.

The police action thus allowed “the seizure of a quantity of hashish likely to correspond to approximately 15,000 average individual daily doses”.

The detainee will now be brought before the competent judicial authorities to learn about the coercive measures deemed appropriate.
