In an interview with Diário de Leiria, Moonspell’s lead singer, Fernando Ribeiro, previews the show ‘Soombra’ that will take the stage at Teatro José Lúcio da Silva, next Friday. About Leiria, the singer praises the city and praises the fact that “there are always things happening” on a cultural and artistic level

Leiria Diary Next Friday, Moonspell will be in Leiria with the show ‘Soombra’, after having already given two concerts across the country. How has the public accepted this acoustic version?
Fernando Ribeiro It’s been going very well. We had them in Coimbra and Guarda, and both were sold out. We originally thought about this in 2010, and we walked around a few cities. Including in Leiria, with a sold-out José Lúcio da Silva Theater. However, all these years went by and we never picked it up again. There is always a time when the band looks at its portfolio and nowadays it is very important to be malleable and have elasticity in our own style. As we won’t have a new album until 2025, we decided to return to this idea of a show designed for theaters and designed so that Moonspell can go beyond their size and the concerts we have abroad. We also like to play a little outside the Lisbon and Porto axis. Leiria is so close to where I live, and I go to many things in Leiria and it was one of the cities that immediately embraced this project.
