Last night, the crew at the Tavira lifeguard station rescued a 57-year-old man, of Brazilian nationality, who suffered a fall near a restaurant, on the Island of Tavira.
The alert was given at 9:03 pm, through the Lisbon Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center (MRCC Lisbon).
Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers found that the victim had suffered a cervical injury. After assistance, the man was transported by the Tavira Municipal Firefighters to a hospital unit.
The Tavira Maritime Police Local Command took charge of the incident.
