The Viseu delegation of the Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired in Portugal (ACAPO) and the restaurant A Púcara are promoting a “dark” dinner on April 10th. Around 40 people will eat blindfolded in this solidarity initiative scheduled for 7:30 pm.

Part of the revenue raised at the dinner will go to ACAPO. The president of the association, Ana Sofia Silva, says that this will be “a moment to raise awareness of the day-to-day issues of our visually impaired citizens”.

The initiative will also make it possible to “become even more aware of all the work that the delegation has been carrying out in the district, namely in the monitoring, rehabilitation and inclusion that we do daily with members and users through our multidisciplinary team”, adds the director.

The national president of ACAPO, Rodrigo Santos, will be present at the dinner. The person in charge says that this will be “an opportunity to raise awareness among the population about the cause of visual impairment and to show that it is possible to do something in everyday life, without using the sense of sight”.

Rui Espírito Santo, manager of the A Púcara restaurant, highlights that the initiative demonstrates that companies also have to help associations that, in Viseu, carry out “remarkable work in the social area”.

The cost of participation is 35 euros and half of the amount goes to ACAPO Viseu. Registration can be made directly at the A Púcara restaurant or by contacting 934 924 977 or [email protected].
