Benavente pays homage to a figure from Campino in Children’s Park (with Photos)

-

Benavente City Council, which is currently working to register Campino as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Portugal, recently inaugurated a Children’s Park that aims to pay homage to the figure of Campino.

The municipality opened the space to the public last Sunday, praising its President, Carlos Coutinho, that this work returns an emblematic space to the residents, “especially children and young people”, making an “apology for the countryside in this way that I think is very creative and a space that is very attractive.”

The playground is made up of pieces, which as a whole make up the figure of a field, which obviously also includes figures of bulls.

The “O Campino” Children’s Park is the result of an investment by the Municipality of Benavente of around 450 thousand euros, 200 thousand for the acquisition of the space and 270 thousand euros, plus VAT, for the construction of the pieces that make up the figure, in a equipment fully adapted for children and which complies with all current safety standards.
