Victory (2-1) for the Setúbal team; Gerda Konst took on the role of a heroine during compensation time; 2nd leg scheduled for April

Racing Power beat SC Braga 2-1 this Thursday and is closer to reaching the final of the Portuguese Cup for the first time in its history.

At the Estádio 1.º de Maio, the Braga team opened the scoring in the 27th minute, through Maria Miller, after an assist from Beatriz Meio-Metro.

In the second half, the Setúbal team turned the score around. At 53′, Maria Miller shook the net again… from the wrong goal, following a frontal free kick. Shortly afterwards, Miguel Santos’ team had a great opportunity to get back in front of the scoreboard, but Sissi wasted the penalty.

Racing Power reached victory in added time. Gerda Konst successfully beat a penalty against Patricía Morais, the Portuguese international goalkeeper.

The team led by João Marques is, therefore, at an advantage for the 2nd leg game, scheduled for April 21st.

It should also be noted that the other semi-final pits Benfica and Sporting face to face. The first game will be on Sunday, at 6:15 pm, in Seixal.
