The exchange of experiences and good practices, especially in the wine sector, is the basis of a collaboration protocol established between the municipalities of Vidigueira and Isola del Giglio (Italy).

According to the Vidigueira Chamber, this partnership received technical assistance from the Alentejo Regional Development Agency (ADRAL) and aims, among other commitments, to promote the exchange of experiences and good practices in the wine sector.

The agreement has the approval of the Iter Vitis International Federation, recognized by the Council of Europe for the Iter Vitis European Cultural Itinerary – Les Chemins de la Vigne, which is committed to promoting and valuing it within its activities.

Rui Raposo, president of the municipality of Vidigueira, reveals that the Italian municipality was very interested in the culture associated with carved wine.

The mayor highlights the tourism promotion capacity of that municipality, an island with just over a thousand inhabitants and which receives 250 thousand visitors annually.
