The Union of Parishes of Sé, Santa Maria and Meixedo and the Commercial, Industrial and Services Association (ACISB) of Bragança launched a competition to beautify shop windows and balconies in the city of Bragança.

Registration runs until April 19th and at stake are prizes ranging from 50 euros (third place), 75 euros (second place) to 100 euros for the winners.

“The objective is to have the space of the União das Freguesias more flowery, more attractive, more spring-like and, therefore, for those who visit us, to have the windows, the balconies, the windows with natural flowers”, explained the president of the União das Freguesias, Telmo Afonso.

The idea came up last year but, at the time, it did not move forward due to a lack of interested parties.

“Last year we had the idea, we launched the challenge to residents but we only had two participants and we ended up not holding the competition.

Now traders, individuals or companies can participate”, highlighted Telmo Afonso.

ACISB is one of the partners in this initiative.

“We like to involve merchants in all initiatives. In this case, we understood that it was fun to create a dynamic here and beautify the city in a natural way. It is up to everyone to help us mobilize people to join this initiative”, highlighted Anabela Anjos, from ACISB.

Registration runs until April 19th.
