Sobreda hosts “Creactivity”, an itinerant project that stimulates children’s creativity

Mobile unit will bring to Sobreda several interactive workshops between April 1st and 5th. Entry is free.

Sobreda will host, between the 1st and 5th of April, the itinerant project “Creactivity”, designed to awaken children’s ingenuity, dexterity and creativity.

The project takes place inside a mobile unit, which will be parked next to the Sobreda market. Aimed at children aged 6 and over, this interactive space aims to encourage drawing and creativity within the school and family community.

“Creactivity” is a project by the La Caixa Foundation, which has the support of the Charneca de Caparica e Sobreda Parish Council. The objective is to encourage “the design of original solutions to simple problems. Students participate in workshops using everyday materials and low- and high-tech tools to bring their own ideas to life,” the organization said in a statement.

Inside, the bus is equipped with benches and work tables, providing various activities aimed at younger people. Within this unit, it will be possible to put different skills into practice: the Mechanics area, with spaces for gears, mechanisms, marbles and pinball machines; the Wind area, with wind tubes; the Electricity area; and the Luz area, with the “stop motion” system.

With a strong playful and collaborative component, “Creactivity” provides the analysis of various materials, planning, the creation of new designs, the use of common materials and the use of new functions, through open and interdisciplinary proposals that encompass science , technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

The space is open from April 1st to 5th between 9am and 12:30pm and between 2pm and 6:30pm. After Sobreda, in Almada, the mobile unit goes to Sesimbra, Setúbal and Comporta. Entry is free.
