A month after landing in Lisbon from the Toulouse factory, Azores Airlines’ second Airbus A320neo began commercial operations last weekend.

This time, it only took 30 days to certify and launch the new Airbus A320neo acquired by Azores Airlines, as part of its fleet renewal process. The first, remember, it arrived at the beginning of November last year, but it was only debuted near the end of last January.

Like the first, this second Airbus A320neo also adopted a 168-seat configuration. The new devices promise “a reduction in fuel consumption of around 20%, a reduction in gas and noise emissions, lower operating costs and greater load capacity”, highlights the SATA Group company.

“This moment is experienced with special enthusiasm, as it marks the completion of a relevant step in the consolidation of Azores Airlines’ sustainability strategy. Additionally, it brings significant improvements to the operation, offering a more comfortable environment on board and, as a result, ensuring more pleasant journeys for our passengers”, highlighted Teresa Gonçalves, president of Grupo SATA, cited in a statement.

Azores Airlines provides connections between the Azores and abroad. The company is in the privatization process.
