This Monday, the Specific Regulations for the thematic area Climate Action and Sustainability were published in Diário da República, one of the specific regulations of Portugal 2030, which are developed by thematic area.

The objective of the thematic division of regulation is to allow beneficiaries to have access, in a consolidated manner, to the rules applicable to support instruments with similar objectives and natures.

The Specific Regulation of the Thematic Area Climate Action and Sustainability focuses on investments financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Cohesion Fund, within the scope of the strategic objectives of Portugal 2030 “Greener Portugal (OP2)” and “More Portugal connected (OP3)”, aligned with the respective European objectives.

The instruments included in this regulation are complemented, in particular, with investments in railways and ports foreseen in Portugal 2030, and with the instruments included in the specific regulation of the thematic area Innovation and Digital Transition, aimed at energy efficiency and the circular economy in companies.

The Specific Regulation on Climate Action and Sustainability was proposed by the management authorities of the SUSTAINABLE 2030 Program and the continent’s Regional Programs, based on the contribution of public entities and other relevant actors, having been developed together with AD&C – Agency for Climate Action and Sustainability. Development and Cohesion, as a technical coordination body within the scope of Portugal 2030 governance.
