The Medicine Service at Hospital José Joaquim Fernandes, in Beja, prepared a set of awareness-raising actions about cerebrovascular risk factors. Today the first action of the “Together for AVC” initiative takes place.

Debates, training actions, screening and a walk are part of the program for this event on the topic of stroke.

Rosa Mendes, from the Medicine Service at Hospital de Beja, explains that the objective of the initiative is to promote National Stroke Patients’ Day.

This Tuesday, April 2nd, will be marked by the holding of a debate on the theme “Challenges in the treatment of stroke in Alentejo and Algarve”, aimed at health professionals. The lecture takes place in the Beja Hospital conference room.

Also, today, the training session “Together for the AVC” is taking place, in an initiative open to the public, which takes place in the afternoon at the Instituto Politécnico de Beja.

The next actions take place on the 4th and 7th of April. On Thursday, the “Stroke Risk Factors” screening will take place. The initiative is open to the public and will take place between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm in the Beja Hospital hall.

The last action is a 6km walk scheduled for Sunday, at 10:30 am, in Parque da Cidade, as revealed by Rosa Mendes.
