Forum of Municipal Civil Protection Coordinators of the Coimbra Region

A Forum of Municipal Civil Protection Coordinators of the Coimbra Region was held at the Casa da Cultura de Góis, which was attended by the Mayor of Góis, António Rui Sampaio, the Sub-Regional Commander of Emergency and Civil Protection from the Coimbra Region, Carlos Tavares, the Executive Secretary of the CIM Coimbra Region, Jorge Brito, Professor Alexandre Tavares from the University of Coimbra and the Coordinators of the Municipal Civil Protection Services of the Coimbra Region.

Following the various initiatives integrated into the celebrations of the International Civil Protection Day, in which the Municipality of Góis is host, this Coordinators Forum was held, whose main themes were the evaluation of the seven years of the “Intermunicipal Risk Management Plan”. and its review, taking into account the current and future challenges for our territory and the “Execution of PT2030 investments in the area of ​​civil protection in the territory of the CIM Region of Coimbra”.

The difficulties and challenges faced by municipal civil protection services in the Coimbra Region were discussed, as well as the strengthening of coordination that allowed the implementation of some inter-municipal projects with the aim of increasing the resilience of the various municipal services, recognizing that the path will have to be unity, to overcome the individual weaknesses of each of the Municipalities, because “Together we are stronger”.

This initiative concluded the celebrations, in the Coimbra Region, of Civil Protection Month 2024.
