Three men, aged between 21 and 46, were arrested by the PSP, over the weekend, for hashish trafficking, driving while drunk and driving without a license.

The arrest on suspicion of drug trafficking was made last night, March 31, at 9:45 pm, in Jardim da Sereia, in Coimbra.

The PSP received a report of disorder involving several individuals and went to the location, where they observed that a 21-year-old man, upon seeing the marked police vehicle, ran to a bench there, threw a small object at the floor and sat down next to the other individuals on the bench.

Given this behavior, the individual was approached by the police and asked if he had anything illegal in his possession. Despite having stated that he did not have anything illegal, the PSP located the object that the suspect had thrown on the ground moments before. Screening tests carried out at the police station on the product found were positive for hashish in sufficient quantity for 40 doses.

The two arrests for road traffic offenses took place in the city of Figueira da Foz. In the early hours of Saturday, March 30, at 3:24 am, on Passeio Infante D. Henrique, a 46-year-old man was arrested, who was driving with a level of alcohol in the blood of 1.31 grams per liter. At 6pm yesterday, on Arnaldo Sobral Street, a 39-year-old man was arrested, who was driving a car without a license.
