It’s going to be a weekend full of music in the land of the rooster. The VIII edition of the Eixo Atlântico Musical Exhibition takes place in Barcelos, from the 12th to the 14th of April, and, in addition to the many concerts, will have workshops and a tribute to the Galician musician Joám Trillo. In the presentation, which takes place every two years in different locations, the mayor of Barcelona stated that it was “a great honor” to host this event, as it brings together what he considers most suitable for the Municipality’s “cultural project”, “with new audiences and new talents.” Xoán Vasquez Mao, secretary general of Eixo Atlântico, revealed that the choice of Barcelos was made “unanimously”, as he “commits to culture, education and sport”.

The VIII edition of the Eixo Atlântico Musical Exhibition will feature 375 participants from Galicia and the North of Portugal, 32 soloists and 343 groups from around 30 music schools and conservatories from 22 municipalities on the Eixo Atlântico. The classical music and jazz shows will take place at the São Bento Menni Auditorium and at Theatro Gil Vicente. The Municipality of Barcelos will also promote a complementary program that includes workshops, workshops, among other activities, starting on April 6th. The creation of this program aims to be an attractive factor, involving local actors who work on musical mastery through clay.
