And to mark World Autism Awareness Day, which takes place on April 2nd, Nosso Shopping launches “Quiet Hour”, where sensory stimuli will be reduced in order to meet the needs of visitors with this disorder.

From today, April 2nd, Nosso Shopping will make several adaptations to the normal operation of the Shopping Center during a “Quiet Hour”. Therefore, every Saturday between 10am and 11am, the space will turn off the sound and reduce the intensity of the light, becoming a safe and comfortable space for people on the autism spectrum and other sensory sensitivities.

Furthermore, Nosso Shopping will join the international “Light it Up Blue” movement by lighting the shopping center’s exterior in blue until April 7, in partnership with Vila Real City Council.

In order to provide the necessary tools to its teams to identify and deal with incidents within the autism spectrum, Nosso Shopping will carry out internal training with the support of the Portuguese Autism Federation.

SUPPORT OUR WORK. SUPPORT NEARBY JOURNALISM.

At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and local journalism. Access to most VTM news is (still) free, but it is not free, journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way of directly supporting A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our counterpart is independent and local journalism, but not only that. It means continuing to inform despite all the contingencies of confinement, without having stopped for a single day.
