PSP made initial intervention, but investigation is with the PJ


The General Inspectorate of Internal Administration (IGAI) opened a case to investigate the circumstances surrounding the kidnapping of a PSP agent who killed a man at home with his service weapon, the newspaper reported this Tuesday Observer.

“A process was opened, within the scope of which information was requested from the PSP”, can be read in the order issued by judge Anabela Cabral Ferreira.

An attempted armed robbery ended with the death of one of the criminals this Monday morning, in Benfica, Lisbon. The victim they attacked, allegedly at random, was an elite PSP agent who was unarmed but managed to elude the pair of robbers and lead them to the house.

As soon as they entered, the officer took his service weapon from a drawer and identified himself as a police officer. Then, under threat of a firearm, he fired a clear shot into the heart of Amílcar Gomes Pinto, 50 years old, who died immediately.
