With the aim of contributing to accelerating the implementation of clean energy technologies, the GOLDBREAKa Portuguese company specialized in energy storage and production, brings to Portugal the first iron flux long life batteries for industrial and utility scale applications.
The innovative and unique technology in the Iberian Peninsula is aimed at large energy consumers and aims to be an alternative solution to lithium batteries, appearing safer, without environmental impact, more economical in the medium-long term and enabling very high energy autonomy. close to 100%.
The arrival of the first two units at the Port of Leixões is scheduled for April 11th, as a result of the partnership established between GOLDBREAK and the North American company ESS Tech, Inc, one of the main manufacturers of long-term energy storage systems. duration, and will be destined for the Falual Metalomecânica industrial unit, in Trofa, where a photovoltaic production plant will be simultaneously installed, also by GOLDBREAK.
Long-lasting iron flow batteries enable the safe storage of electrical energy, making it available for long periods, without cycle limits and at low cost. They guarantee energy availability for up to 12 hours, allowing the optimization of investments in energy production from renewable sources, as they allow stabilizing the electrical energy supply, reducing the loss of surplus and transferring green energy from periods in which renewable sources and intermittent are available for non-production phases of the day.
