The Association of Benevolent Blood Donors of Guimarães is promoting a blood collection on the 7th and 8th of April – Sunday and Monday – at the Taipas Fire Department.
This entity, one of the largest in the country, recalls that “we continue to need 1000 units of blood every day”, indicating the need for donors with blood groups O positive and O negative, as “the blood reserves of these groups are below desirable.”
To be a blood donor, you simply need to be between 18 and 65 years old (the age limit for the first donation is 60 years old) and weigh 50 kg or more.
