Impresa has just announced an exclusive sales partnership with Rakuten Advertising in Portugal, with the group that owns SIC and Expresso now being responsible for Rakuten Advertising’s entire advertising and Connected TV offer sold in the Portuguese market.

Rakuten Advertising is the exclusive advertising provider for Rakuten TV, a solution that allows you to reach diverse audiences in Portugal and other key media regions in the European Union. With a strong presence in Smart TV, this solution gives users access to a wide range of AVOD and FAST channels.

The partnership constitutes an extension of Impresa’s CTV offer, joining the OPTO and Playce platforms, which already provide SIC On Demand content on televisions in 3 million Portuguese homes.

“We are starting a very relevant and innovative partnership in the Portuguese market. The quality of the content offered by Rakuten TV aligns well with SIC’s own mission, which prioritizes offering the best content to advertisers”, says João Paulo Luz, director of digital business and publishing at Impresa, in a statement.

“With Impresa’s experience and its leading position in Portugal, this group is the ideal partner to connect advertisers and highly engaged audiences, who are loyal viewers of our growing media inventory. Together, we will provide advertisers with seamless access to the best CTV advertising opportunities,” said Bérangère Degni-Rezé, Senior Director, Business Strategy & Partnerships, Media, at Rakuten Advertising, in a statement.

Continente and Unilever are two advertisers that have already joined this partnership.

“We believe that this is an innovative collaboration that reflects the constant evolution of the market and expands our presence, as the largest national advertiser, on all Connected TV in Portugal”, reflects Filipa Appleton, Head of Brand & Marketing at MC.

Teresa Burnay, Media Director at Unilever, states that the company has always wanted to “be a pioneer in experimenting with all the new media available” and that Connected TV is the future.
