Library organizes Bibliofarmácia initiative, which wants to combat the lack of health literacy and raise awareness of the risks of medication abuse
The Municipal Library of Mangualde ‘opens’ this Thursday (4 April) the Bibliofarmácia, an initiative that aims to combat the lack of health literacy and which is organized in partnership with a pharmacy in the municipality, Farmácia Feliz.
By sharing health-related information, the action integrated into the Mangualde Library’s Easter holiday activities aims to “contribute to the training of citizens”, highlights the Chamber.
The initiative has two sessions: the first is scheduled for 10 am and is aimed at children, while the second starts at 3 pm and will be aimed at the rest of the population.
Among the scheduled activities, an exhibition of historical pieces and materials from pharmaceutical activities and a bibliographical exhibition stand out. Bibliofarmácia also has workshops, readings, games and conversations.
During the afternoon there will also be a debate on medication, self-medication, homemade medicines and the risks of abusive or incorrect use of drugs.
