O Viseu Food Bank continues to be associated with the campaign’Paper by Food‘, a national action promoted by Portuguese Federation of Food Banksin which all the paper collected is converted into food products to be distributed to those most in need.

The campaign has an environmental awareness component, raising awareness of the importance of each person’s role in society, and in the world, encouraging the recovery and reuse of seemingly worthless things.

All paper donations will be accepted and the more the merrier, as tons of paper to recycle means many kilos of food collected to be distributed to those most in need.

They can be made directly at the nearest Food Bank.

Those responsible for the Food Bank also emphasize that the aim is to encourage volunteering, involving people, but also institutions, be they companies, condominiums, and public and local administration bodies.

As of today, April 3rd, the ‘Paper for Food’ campaign across the country had already achieved more than 26,200 tons of paper that were converted into more than 2,800 tons of food.
