The bus company Ovnitur, based in Viana do Castelo, announced the acquisition of five more Mercedes-Benz Tourismo brand vehicles to add to its fleet, which already has more than 100 buses.
In a statement, Francisco Oliveira, CEO of Ovnitur, said that the company is “extremely satisfied with the investment” made in 2023, which is why it decided to follow the same path in 2024.
“This year we decided to reinforce it by increasing the number of vehicles purchased. The Mercedes-Benz Tourismo we have added to our fleet contribute significantly to our operational efficiency,” he described.
For Francisco Oliveira, “the vehicles’ advanced features, comfort, safety and reduced consumption exceeded our expectations”.
“In addition, all the support and support provided by Daimler Buses has been fundamental to the success of our partnership”, he concluded.
According to Ovnitur, the new buses comply with all European regulations and have safety and driver support systems, such as Active Brake Assist 6, Front Collision Guard, Eco Driver Feedback and Predictive Powertrain Control, as well as headlights with LED technology. .
The seats are from the Mercedes-Benz luxury line and feature three-point seat belts.
Founded in 1987 as a travel agency, with headquarters in Ponte de Lima and a branch in Viana do Castelo, the “company, from its inception to the present day, has been based on a wide range of tourist services, from holiday packages, flights , hotels, cruises, rent-a-car, transfers”.
In 2010 it opened a branch in Lisbon and in 2017 it created a new operations center in Nogueira, Viana do Castelo, where the head office was moved.
