The Mayor of Viana do Castelo, Luís Nobre, accompanied by the municipal executive, visited, this weekend, the Union of Parishes of Torre and Vila Mou for a joint work meeting and was also in conversation with the movement association of the two parishes to analyze possible cooperation between the Municipality, the Board’s executive and local associations, thus deepening existing relationships.
The visit to the parishes included a view of the cemetery and also the most recent investments in the road network, sports and association infrastructures and support in Torre and Vila Mou.
During this visit, the executive also took stock of the current situation regarding the entry into operation of recent investments in water and sanitation, which are still waiting for E-Redes to guarantee the energy for the start-up of the Waste Water Treatment Station – ETAR.
This visit took place as part of the tour that the executive has carried out through the parishes to assess existing needs and monitor ongoing works.
It is worth remembering that, within the scope of the 2024 Activity and Budget Plan of the Viana do Castelo City Council, Territorial Cohesion / Parishes has a budget of 8.5 million euros, becoming the fourth item with the largest amount of funding. , (9.1% of the Plan’s Major Options) in the Municipal Activities Plan for investment by the Unions and Parish Councils initiative, an increase of more than 409 thousand euros compared to the previous year as an increasingly cohesive territory is only possible through a system that promotes social inclusion and equity through greater equality of territorial competences.
