A Viseu Municipal Assembly gave the green light to the sale, at public auction, of a portion of the land of the city’s old train station, next to Rotunda Cibernética, and for the base value of 4.2 million euros (ME),
This plot of land located on Avenida Capitão Homem Ribeiro and Avenida da Europa, usually used by circus companies that set up shop in the city, will be sold with the aim of financing the construction of the future Centro das Artes de Viseu, said Mayor Fernando Ruas , during the session.
It is also the municipality’s intention that the sale of this land will allow for the future requalification of the area at road level, between the Viriato tunnel and Rotunda Cibernética, and also the increase in sidewalks.
During the Municipal Assembly, Fernando Ruas also said that the Viseu City Council will sell other land next to Avenida da Europa, in the court area, where it is estimated to raise around 2 ME, a sum that will help finance the works on the future road network in that area. area of the city.
