Children from Rio de Loba, in Viseu, create a piece about the 25th of April measuring one and a half meters high

Recreating the placement of the nail in the shotgun by a child is one of the works carried out by the children of the ATL of the Centro Social Paroquial de Rio de Lobo. Exhibition can be seen until April 28th, at Forum Viseu

The question “What about you? How do you see April 25th?” was the motivation for the children of the ATL of the Centro Social Paroquial de Rio de Lobo to give free rein to their imagination. In total, there are 25 works performed by stage and medium artists, aged between 6 and 12 years old.

The challenge launched to the youngest resulted in an exhibition that can be seen until April 28th, at Forum Viseu.

Among the various drawings and illustrations, a work measuring 1.80m long and 1.50m high stands out. It is an interpretation of a child placing the carnation in the rifle, giving the idea of ​​three-dimensionality.

“The children are the great artists of the exhibition, they are to be congratulated for their commitment and creativity”, highlights the institution’s animator, Ana Sousa.

The superior social education technician at the Centro Social Paroquial de Rio de Loba, Vanda Rodrigues, highlighted

“The exhibition is the culmination of a very important intervention and awareness-raising activity among children. Being able to talk about the 50th anniversary of April 25th, its historical importance, democracy and freedom with young people and them being able to critically translate this onto paper is the best reward we can have as technicians”, she said.

Some of the works on display can also be seen in the printed edition of Jornal do Centro which is on newsstands this Wednesday (April 24). In a newspaper entirely dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April, the works of these small, great artists illustrate several articles.
