As part of the celebrations of the 39th anniversary of April 25, 1974, as part of the “Local Power Week” initiative, Jornal C – O Caminhense interviewed in 2013 the former presidents of Caminha City Council and the president at the time, Júlia Paula Coast. Horácio Benvindo da Silva (1974-1976): “It won’t be any better. This has reached point zero. (…) But we cannot lose hope.”
José Joaquim Pita Guerreiro (1976-1993): “If the European community strengthens its institutions, I believe it will be better off.”
Valdemar Patrício (1993-2001): “It will be better than it is now and it won’t be too difficult. (…) I think there will be a change in the social order, but always with respect for democracy.”
Júlia Paula Costa (2001-2013): “It would be good for our country if the true experience of April 25th was the achievement of our financial freedom and sovereignty.”
