40th Ovibeja – Performance by thousands of singers from Alentejo

There is a lot of expectation regarding the commemorative edition of the 40th Ovibeja, because there are many reasons for a visit with family, friends, work, or for any other reason, between April 30th and May 5th. The important thing is to be present at the agricultural fair, “an eclectic event, with great boldness and innovation, which makes it unique in the panorama of national events”, says the organization.
With a very ambitious concert lineup, which brings UB40 to Portugal just for the 40th Ovibeja concert, it will be the stage for a large number of fans from the north to the south of Portugal.
In addition to the legendary English reggae band, the event also features big names in Portuguese music, such as Calema, Ana Moura, The Lucky Duckies and also Buba Espinho from Bejão.

As a novelty, this year’s edition of Ovibeja will also have the Filhos da Terra stage, which will bring music closer to visitors between 6pm and 9pm, at Pavilhão do Cante, close to the bars and restaurants. Late afternoon musical moments with Cantadores do Alentejo, Zeca Serrano and Fernando Pardal, Bandidos do Cante, Eduardo Espinho and guests. Day 2 is dedicated especially to the Children of the Earth with some surprises.
On Saturday, the 4th, a unique moment will also take place in Ovibeja: The celebration of the 10th Anniversary of Cante Alentejano, an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, with the unison performance of thousands of singers. Throughout every day of the fair, there will also be countless activities for all tastes and all ages.

Taking into account the great diversity and quality of the events in this commemorative edition, the Ovibeja organization has already recorded the sale of many tickets, a method that avoids, on the same day, queues at the entrance to the fair. Visitors who wish to do so can purchase tickets online in advance at the usual places, at Worten, CTT, FNAC or on the Ovibeja website.
Parking areas near the fair will also be reinforced. In addition to the parking lot at the entrance to the event, there is also an alternative parking lot at the Flávio dos Santos Stadium, with guidance signs at the city’s main roundabouts. Support staff will be reinforced to guide the traffic confluence near the fair.
