The Polytechnic of Leiria will mark the 50th anniversary of the 25th of April with the XIII Legal Conference, under the theme ‘Its Multiple Refractions in the Legal-Political World’.

Promoted by the Department of Legal Sciences of the Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão (ESTG) and by the Leiria hub of the Instituto Jurídica Portucalense, the event will take place next Monday (29 April), starting at 2:30 pm, in auditorium 1 of Building B of ESTG.

After the opening of the conference, led by Carlos Rabadão, president of the Polytechnic of Leiria, Carlos Capela, director of ESTG, and Eugénio Lucas, coordinator of the Department of Legal Sciences, the panel ’25th of April in the First Person’ takes place.

António Avelãs Nunes, retired professor at the Faculty of Law of Coimbra, and Guilherme d’Oliveira Martins, jurist, politician, teacher and current executive administrator of the Caloust Gulbenkian Foundation, are part of the first panel.

The conversation follows on the topic ‘The Multiple Refractions of the 25th of April in the Legal-Political World’, with interventions by teachers Miguel Almeida, Mário Barata, Susana Almeida, Patrícia Rocha, Elisabete Santos, Eugénio Lucas, Ângelo Abrunhosa, Daniela Castilhos and Rita Almeida, who will debate different points of view on the repercussions of the Carnation Revolution.

The closing of the session is scheduled for 6:15 pm, with words from the event’s Organizing and Scientific Committee.
