The Port of Funchal hosts, next Saturday, April 27th, at 10 am, the Regional Marathon Championship and the Madeira Marathon Cup, organized by the Madeira Regional Canoeing Association.
Thus, the Championship and Cup will feature the presence of 85 canoeists in K1, K2 and
SUPC, representing 5 regional clubs, namely the Associação Náutica de Câmara de Lobos, Centro Treino Mar, Clube Naval da Calheta, Clube Naval do Funchal and Ludens Clube de Machico.
In order to avoid the simultaneous crowding of many canoeists at the starting line and
tolls, the race will be divided into three starts, namely at 10:00 am (K2 Seniors, Junior Men and Masters B Men), at 10:01 am (K1 Seniors, Juniors, Masters A and B Men and Women) and at 10:02 the SUPC.
The K1 and K2 Senior and Junior Men races have a distance of sixteen kilometres.
kilometers, corresponding to sixteen laps of the route. As for the K1 and K2 Senior and Junior Women’s events, Masters A and B Men and Women run 12
laps totaling twelve kilometers.
