Liberal Initiative of Madeira considered that the tax burden applied to salaries “is more than suffocating”, adding that it is “unacceptable” that from a salary increase from 900 to a thousand euros gross, the State “keeps half”.

The Liberal Madeira Initiative, at the regional elections on May 26, criticized the “fiscal madness” of the State that “penalizes” those who work, and considered that the tax burden applied to salaries “is more than suffocating”.

“It is simply unacceptable that from a salary increase from 900 to a thousand euros gross, the State gets half,” stated the party force.

“We cannot accept a system that sees individual effort as just something to be taxed. Where is the reward for your work, sweat, time, energy, creativity and achievements?”, asked the party.

The Liberal Initiative considers that it is “time for change” and warned that a State that penalizes work “condemns” its citizens to emigration in search of a dignified life.

“A Government that does not know how to manage resources well or value merit does not create incentives for progress. Decades of misguided policies have made Madeira a minimum wage region”, reinforced the party’s strength.
