Two new public spaces were opened in the village of Almancil.
On Rua Poeta Aleixo, a renovated space for intergenerational stay and interaction, Jardim da Vila, was made available to the local population.
This recreational area has been redeveloped and now includes new equipment, namely exercise machines and a new floor in the playground. In addition to improving the safety and aesthetics of the site, this intervention was intended to encourage an active and healthy lifestyle by paving an area extended to outdoor activities (e.g. Zumba, CrossFit, among others). Trees were also planted to bring shade to the space.
In Jardim das Comunidades, the heart of Almancil and the town’s social center, a new recreational area was created in the northwest part. More equipment for children to play, with the expansion of the age ranges for which they are intended, improvement of the pavement and reinforcement of the trees are the main elements of this work to requalify the public space, designed by the young architect Sara Nunes.
On the opening day, many children wanted to open the park for the first time and the joy of the young ones, between laughter, laughter and lots of fun, reigned on this sunny afternoon in which freedom was celebrated.
