Montenegro will inaugurate the biggest event in the “rural world” in Beja

This will be Luís Montenegro’s first presence at a public event in the “rural world”, since he took office on April 2nd as Prime Minister, six days after the President of the Republic stated that the Head of Government has “rural behavior ”.

Luís Montenegro will be accompanied by José Manuel Fernandes and Maria da Graça Carvalho, and will inaugurate the Grande Feira do Sul in the Auditorium of ACOS-Agricultores do Sul, the organization organizing the event, followed by a visit to the fair that will last until next Sunday , May 5th.

It is recalled that Montenegro made his first visit to Ovibeja on April 22, 2022, at the time as a candidate for the leadership of the Social Democratic Party (PSD), having told journalists that he hoped to “return to Grande Feira do Sul, in the coming years , as leader of the PSD”. Two years later, Montenegro returns to Ovibeja, but as prime minister.

The Parliamentary Committee for Agriculture and the Sea will also be present at the fair tomorrow and, according to ACOS, “comes with the purpose of taking a pulse on the state of agriculture in the Alentejo region”.

The edition commemorating Ovibeja’s 40th anniversary aims to be memorable, with the organization admitting more exhibitors than in previous editions, more recreational and cultural initiatives, with particular emphasis on the UB40 concert, next Friday. The presence of many thousands of visitors is expected.
