The World Olive Oil Congress (OOWC), which will take place on the 26th, 27th and 28th of June 2024 in the auditorium of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), in Madrid (Spain), will be presented at the 40th Ovibeja, the May 4th, starting at 11 am, in the ACOS Auditorium.

The action is part of the period “On the way to OOWC 2024” to continue the internationalization of the congress and to involve the country’s olive sector in the organization of the congress. The presentation of this first edition — which will take place during the colloquium entitled “Quality certification in the valorization of olive oil” — will be in charge of Ricardo Migueláñez, general coordinator of the congress.

The World Olive Oil Congress (in English), in Madrid, will feature the participation of operators from more than 50 countries, and will address the main news and challenges that olive groves and olive oil will face in the coming years, such as: climate change, quality and product safety, water, sustainability and marketing, but will also analyze the opportunities offered by this food in relation to health, the main “driving force” of current consumption in many countries.

The 40th Ovibeja takes place from April 30th to May 5th at the Manuel de Castro e Brito Fairs and Exhibitions Park, in Beja. Agricultural associations – which is at the genesis of the Fair – will be the central theme of the 40th Ovibeja, reflected in several conferences. An organization run by ACOS – Southern Farmers Association.
