The show dog breeder Mário Pinto, born in Dentros (Castro Verde), was in the spotlight at the 27th Epagneul Breton CAC-QC Monographic Dog Show, held on April 13th at Casa Cadaval, in Muge (Santarém), with two of their dogs to be awarded.

In the competition organized by the Portuguese Club of Epagneul Breton and the Portuguese Caniculture Club, the dog Tobias XIII, who turns two years old next May, was classified first, with the grade “Excellent”.

This dog, from the French breed Epagneul Breton, was also considered the “Best Intermediate Male” and the “Best Specimen in the Show”, in addition to receiving the “Best of Breed” Breed Award.

Único, the other dog that Mário Pinto also took to the competition, was placed fourth, with the grade “Very Good”.

“These awards have a special flavor, as they are the fruit of my work and a reward for all this”, tells “CA” the breeder from Entrance, who has been breeding dogs “more seriously” since 2010.

Mário Pinto had two award-winning dogs at the 27th Epagneul Breton CAC-QC Monographic Dog Show, held on April 13th at Casa Cadaval, in Muge (Santarém).

According to Mário Pinto, it is “a passion” that requires a lot of work and dedication, “be it from treating, feeding or cleaning” the 12 dogs he currently owns. “And it takes a lot of ring work to be able to go to shows,” he adds.

The distinctions achieved in this year’s Epagneul Breton CAC-QC Monographic Dog Show come after Mário Pinto has already been guaranteed, in 2023, in Vila do Bispo, a second place in the same competition.

The breeder from Entrance also won the competition held at the Patrimónios do Sul fair, last October in Beja, in addition to being present at the National Agriculture Fair, which is held annually in Santarém.

The awards are a stimulus for Mário Pinto, who intends to continue improving and leave his “mark” in breeding amazing dogs. For this reason, he reveals, he has just registered the affix “D’Entradas” in the Book of Origin, which will be part of the name of all his dogs from now on.
