Marvel’s future will involve a smaller and more sparing Cinematic Universe, with aversion to risk and focused on projects with guaranteed success at the box office.

This is what journalist Daniel Richtman says, whose confirmed exclusives have made him one of the most credible sources on social media about what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood.

Sacrificed were already “Ant-Man 4” and “Captain Marvel 3”, the sequels to last year’s films that failed at the box office, “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “The Marvels”, the latter the least profitable of the Cinematic Universe.

The news is no better for the studio’s biggest bet since “Avengers”: despite the wishes of Marvel president Kevin Feige, a sequel to “Eternals”, which is secretly in preparation, is also unlikely to move forward while the person most responsible for the Disney for Bob Iger, who went ahead with spending cuts and announced that the priority is to bet “more on quality than quantity”.

The only Marvel film for 2024 is “Deadpool & Wolverine”, which hits theaters on July 25th.

Announced for the year are “Captain America: Brave New World” (February 13), “Thunderbolts” (May 1), “Fantastic Four” (July 24) and “Blade” (November 6).
