The first season of the series Percy Jackson and The Olympians has come to an end on Disney+ and fans are paying tribute to the interpreter of the Greek god.
The end of the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians caused a particular emotion in many fans: sadness. This has only a limited connection to the end of the story. Instead, Lance Reddick (John Wick) was seen in one of his final roles in episode eight of the series. Reddick died in March 2023.

Percy Jackson star Lance Reddick’s death raises a big question
Lance Reddick’s appearance in the eighth episode of the first season of Percy Jackson causes great emotions. “Seeing Lance Reddick in the final took my breath away”said an X user.
“Seeing Lance Reddick atop Mount Olympus as Zeus in the season finale of Percy Jackson kind of took my breath away. Such a powerful presence to play that role, but so sad that we won’t get to see him again.”
“Not only is it the last episode of the first season of Percy Jackson and the Olympians, but it’s also the first and last time we’ll see Lance Reddick as Zeus and I’m heartbroken about it. Hearing nothing but incredible words from Rick [Riordan] about your performance and your co-stars, it will be exciting.”

Reddick’s death also raises a big question for the Disney+ series that many fans are asking. “Lance Reddick was phenomenal as Zeus. It’s very sad that [os criadores] have to reformulate the role”, said a community member. It is not yet known who will play Zeus in the already confirmed second season of the series.
When will Percy Jackson season 2 arrive on Disney+?
The first season of Percy Jackson and The Olympians received good reviews and is available on streaming. However, if filming for the second season begins soon, we could imagine a start in the second half of 2025.
