Gillian Anderson in the unreleased trailer for ‘The Big Interview’, Netflix’s new CONTROVERSIAL film

A Netflix released the official trailer for ‘The Big Interview‘ (Scoop), film starring Gillian Anderson (‘Hannibal’, ‘Sex Education’).

The film will be released on the platform in April 5th.

Directed by Philip Martin (‘The Crown’), the production narrates the dramatic process of obtaining the interview from Prince Andrew (played by Rufus Sewell) for BBC television, in 2019. In the controversial interview, he comments on the accusations of sexual abuse of a minor to which he was subjected.

Set in 2019, the plot aims to cover the events that happened before and after the interview conducted by the journalist Emily Maitlis. At the time, she asked about the connection of Andrew with Jeffrey Epsteintycoon involved in a network of sexual abuse and exploitation of minors.

At the time, the interview became one of the most talked about topics in Europe after airing on BBC with the title ‘Prince Andrew & the Epstein Scandal‘.

The repercussion was so great that it led to the cancellation of Andrew due to his contradictory answers during the interview and ended up becoming the subject of the book’Scoops: Behind The Scenes of the BBC’s Most Shocking Interview‘, by the author and producer Sam McAlister.

The work served as inspiration for the film’s script, written by Peter Moffat (‘Criminal Justice’), a script that caught the attention of Martin and began production of the film.
