With more Chris Hemsworth and explosive action: the new trailer for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” – News

With more emphasis on the villain played by Chris Hemsworth and the explosive action, the second trailer for “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga”, one of the most anticipated films for the big screen this year, was released this Tuesday.

With the action taking place 45 years after the post-apocalyptic event that led to the devastation of the world where the films in the saga take place, director George Miller returns with a prequel to “Mad Max: Fury Road” (2015).

At the center of the story is a young Furiosa (Anya Taylor-Joy succeeding Charlize Theron), taken from the Green Place of Many Mothers to fall into the hands of a large Horde of Motorcyclists led by the Warlord Dementus (Chris Hemsworth). With two factions fighting for supremacy, young Furiosa will have to survive at any cost and try to return home.

The release in theaters, including IMAX, is scheduled for May 23.

It was in 1979 that George Miller made history with “Mad Max”, putting Australian cinema in the spotlight, launching the post-apocalyptic genre and turning all the spotlight on a young Mel Gibson, in the role of agent Max Rockatansky, who tries to impose order on a society on the verge of collapse.

The saga continued with increasing success in “Mad Max 2”, in 1981, and “Mad Max – Beyond Thunderdome”, in 1985, with the action taking place in a world that, from film to film, he looked increasingly devastated.

Against all expectations, in 2015 Miller returned to the “Mad Max” universe with “Mad Max: Fury Road”, now with Tom Hardy in the lead role and Charlize Theron as the anti-heroine Furiosa, in a film that resulted in a huge a public and critical success, and which was nominated for 10 Oscars, including Best Film, winning six statuettes.
