The first two episodes of X-Men ’97 have already arrived on Disney+ and, quickly, one scene in particular involving Gambit caught the attention of fans. We’re talking about that scene where the mutant is wearing a shirt CROPPED.
Although it didn’t spark a mass uprising, some fans questioned the hero’s costume and even compared it to the hero’s action suit in the original series. But before anyone shouts about SEALING or any joke involving Disney, the answer is already in the title of the series itself: ’97.
In the 80s and also in the 90s, cropped shirts were also a trend with MEN. It’s nothing new and a specific retro reference to the time. Only that.

EVERYTHING ABOUT X-MEN ’97
X-Men ’97 promises to be the continuation of the famous 1992 animated series. Now, the series will be a Marvel Studios production, and will have much of its cast from the original American dubbing back.
The lineup of the new X-Men ’97 team includes Rogue, Beast, Gambit, Jean Grey, Wolverine, Storm, Jubilee and Cyclops, all led by Magneto.
Also present are Nightcrawler, Cable, Bishop, Morfo, Forge and Sunspot. The team of villains includes Sebastian Shaw, Emma Frost (White Queen), Callisto, Valerie Cooper, and Mr. Sinister. The series is already on display on Disney+.
