‘Back to Black’: Amy Winehouse biopic is brought forward to national cinemas; Check out!

Through Instagram, Universal Pictures shared a new image of ‘Back to Black‘, a biopic that will tell the story of the singer Amy Winehouse.

In the publication, the studio also announces that the film will hit theaters in April 25 instead of May 9, the previously scheduled date.

Starring Marisa Abela and directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, “’Back to Black‘ will focus on Amy’s extraordinary genius, creativity and honesty, which permeated everything she did. A journey that took her from the madness and colors of 90s Camden High Street to global adoration – and back again, Back to Black steps through the celebrity mirror to observe that journey from behind the mirror, to see what Amy saw, felt what she felt.”

The script was written by Matt Greenhalghwho worked on ‘The Boy from Liverpool‘ is at ‘Control: The Ian Curtis Story‘ (2007).

The title is a reference to the eponymous album that the singer released in 2006 with hits like ‘Rehab’, ‘You Know I’m No Good’ and the title track.
