Ghostbusters: Ice Apocalypse, fifth film in the saga known as Ghostbuster in Brazil, it debuted at the top in the USA by grossing US$45.2 million in the first weekend alone. With its success, the franchise also officially became a billionaire, surpassing the US$1 billion mark at the global box office with its five films.

- The number is in line with the franchise average — Ghostbusters: Beyond (2021) debuted with US$44 million and ended its run in global cinemas with US$204 million at the box office;
- The franchise is made up of five films: but Ghostbuster (2016), with Melissa McCarthy, served as a remake, not being considered a sequel;
- With the premiere of the fourth film with a direct connection, the podium in the USA looks like this: Ghostbusters 4 in first, Dune: Part 2 in second (with more US$ 17.6 million) and Kung Fu Panda 4 third (with US$16.8 million);

Directed by Gil Kenan, veteran of the franchise, Ghostbusters 4 has a direct connection with the other three films (1984, 1989 and 2021). Returning to the original saga, in New York, the film will feature Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd and Ernie Hudson, the original cast, as well as new generation actors, from Ghostbusters — Beyond (2021).
According to the synopsis, the sequence will show a new threat, which must arise from an ancient artifact, putting the world at risk of a second Ice Age.
It is worth noting that, unfortunately, the only member of the originals who will not return physically is Ramis. The actor passed away in 2014, at the age of 69 — in an emotional scene Furtherthe character reappeared as a ghost.
