The filmmaker Adam Wingardknown for his work on ‘Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire’shared an update on the script for the highly anticipated live-action film ‘ThunderCats’the classic animated series.

In an interview with Deadline, Wingard discussed the progress of the ‘ThunderCats’ and its involvement with ‘The other face’.

“Things have been pretty busy lately with both ‘ThunderCats’ and ‘The Other Face’ adaptations, script-wise. I can’t offer many details yet until we reach the next phase, but development is moving forward and the scripts are amazing. I’m genuinely excited about the potential they both have, and then there’s the question of the future of the franchise. What direction will we take? I am completely open to different possibilities and am keeping all options open. Let’s wait and see what the future holds for us.”.

The original animation of ‘ThunderCats’ is available on Max

Remember the classic opening:

The 1985 series produced four seasons, totaling 130 episodes. An icon of the 1980s, in Brazil it marked a generation when it was shown on Globo from 1986 onwards, returning to air in the late 1990s on Warner Channel and Cartoon Network. In 2001, it returned to open TV on SBT, when finally a last batch of episodes, still unreleased, gained a Brazilian version.

Remembering that ‘ThunderCats‘ (1985) tells the saga of a surviving race from the planet Thundera, which brings together a few remnants when escaping in a ship from the collapse of their homeland. Finding a new home on a planet they call Third World, the Thundercats will have to deal with the conflict against their rivals, the Mutants, allies of the terrible (but not so much) Mumm-ra.
