The film made its world premiere at South by Southwest (SXSW) and was released in U.S. theaters in March to critical acclaim. Late Night With the Devil is the best rated horror of the year (so far)with a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Horror master Stephen King was one of those who spared no praise for Late Night with the Devil on social media: “It’s absolutely brilliant. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Results may vary, as they say, but I recommend you watch it when you can”.

See some critical comments about Late Night With the Devil:

“A story in which there is no shortage of allusions to classics like The Exorcist and Carrie, but which has its own identity, keeps us constantly in suspense and leads to an absolutely brilliant final scene” (Los Angeles Times).

“A smart, original approach makes this so much more than just another Exorcist wannabe. You’ll feel horrors coming, but you won’t feel ready yet.” (Empire Magazine). “Ingenuity, meticulous period re-creation, a riveting performance by Dastmalchian, and a surprising ending create a Halloween event you won’t want to miss” (Bloody Disgusting).

“[Anda] toe the line between horror and satire without losing balance until the final minutes” (indieWire). “The unexpected mix between the silly tone of a vintage television show and The Exorcist-style demonic possession sets it apart [de outras produções]” (Variety)

“By taking the tricks and tropes associated with films about the occult and applying them to the context of a 1970s talk show, Australian screenwriters and directors Cameron and Colin Cairnes have created a horror film that is devilishly entertaining.” (Slant Magazine).

Late Night With the Devil follows the host of a 1970s television show, Jack Delroy (David Dastmalchian), who has a nightmare when he welcomes a parapsychologist (Laura Gordon) onto his show to show her latest book about the only young survivor of a mass suicide in a satan church, Lilly D’Abo (Ingrid Torelli). From this event, terror in Jack Delroy’s life was established.
