Jodie Comer and Aaron Taylor-Johnson to star in ‘Termination 3’

According to deadline, Jodie Comer (‘Killing Eve’) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (‘Avengers: Age of Ultron’) will star in the long-awaited sequel’Extermination 3‘ (28 Years Later).

Ralph Fiennes (‘The Menu’) was also confirmed in the cast.

Unfortunately, details about his roles have not been released.

Danny Boyledirector of the original feature, will direct the third film – which will also feature the return of the screenwriter Alex Garland (‘Civil war’).

The film should serve as the first part of a new trilogy. Nia DaCosta (‘The Legend of Candyman’) is in negotiations to direct the second part, which is expected to be filmed shortly after the first part is completed.

Cillian Murphythe protagonist of the 2002 film, will return as executive producer.

Previously, the actor had expressed enthusiasm about returning to the saga: “I was talking to Danny Boyle recently and I said, ‘Danny, we shot the movie in late 2000.’ So I think we’re definitely getting closer to ’28 Years Later’. But, as I’ve always said, I’m willing. I would love to do that. If Alex [Garland] thinks there’s a script and if Danny wants to do it, he’d love to do it.”

Each film is planned to have a budget in the region of $75 million, though it is unclear how targets or compensation may have evolved during the high-stakes negotiations.

One of the most acclaimed horror franchises,’Extermination‘ raised almost US$150 million with his first two films, released in 2003 and 2007.
