Of course you already know that Professor X became a villain and officially gave up leading the X-Men — after all, the Canaltech tells you everything that is most relevant about modern mythology. And after being wiped out along with their island nation Krakoa, the Children of the Atom need new commandos to try to reintegrate into society and continue the battle against the supremacist organization Orchis and machines powered by evil artificial intelligence.
The phase From the Ashes will reboot the lives of mutants, with three teams of X-Men, and one of them will have a leadership that no one could imagine — except the most optimistic fans of the saga Age of Apocalypse. The group of Children of the Atom that goes to New Orleans will be officially led by Rogue in the magazine Uncanny X-Men.
I cited the Age of Apocalypse because veteran and more attentive readers may remember that, in that alternative reality, Rogue managed to master her powers and led the mutants alongside Magneto. This time, she will be joined by Wolverine, Jubilee, Nightcrawler and Gambit on the same team.
This team must remain “outlaw heroes”, trying to reunite the surviving mutants while. According to the Marvel Comics preview, a new evil force must emerge with a terrible secret capable of destroying the X-Men.
“All my favorite mutants acting in surprising and wonderful ways. The incredibly brilliant work of the art team and the exciting collaboration with all the other writers somehow fills each day with some kind of manic joy,” celebrates writer Gail Simone, who takes on the monthly title alongside artist David Marquez .
The other two X-Men teams will be led by Cyclops and his band of revolutionary mutants in Alaska, on proactive missions. Emma Frost and Kate Pryde are in charge of the Chicago group, which will try to reintegrate with humanity, while X-Force will be guided by Forge. And the title NYX will focus on younger mutants like Ms. Marvel.
