Decades ago, Disney found its golden goose: adapting classic animations into live-action format. If works like Mulan, 101 Dalmatians, Cinderella and more were made into feature films with real actors, in the future, the same could be said of Hercules, which has had a live-action film in production since 2020.
Thus, during a recent interview with Total Film magazine, brothers Joe and Anthony Russo, producers, gave news about the film’s development status. According to them, Hercules is paralyzed, still needing a roadmap to move forward.
It is worth mentioning that the live-action of the son of Zeus, initially, would have Guy Ritchie as director, the filmmaker responsible for Aladdin. However, it was reported that Ritchie left production in January of this year, meaning the franchise also needed to find a director.

Without much information about the plot, it is known that the plot will be a kind of “experimental musical”, with the help of TikTok for this. In 2022, Joe Russo revealed his intentions to Variety, stating:
“[O remake será] a little more experimental in tone and execution (…) Today’s audience has been trained by TikTok, right? What are their expectations of what this musical will look like? This could be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit of how you perform a modern musical.”
