Friday, March 15th Fernando Daniel debuted the new song “Dois” at Café da Breakfast, from his new album VHS Vol 2 which will be released this year.
Inspired by this single, the musician wants to surprise two listeners who want to offer their better half a private mini performance by Fernando Daniel.

After presenting the new single “Contigo”, the first taken from the next album “VHS Vol. 2”, first-hand at the very special concert at MEO Arena, now Fernando Daniel opens another door on this album with the release of the moving single “Dois”, now available.
“Two” tells the story of a couple and the different phases of their relationship and the challenges that this entails. “It’s a song that talks about a couple. The motto for this song was from a situation I experienced with Sara many years ago, when we were getting to know each other and we didn’t know if this was what we wanted and we gave each other space. We ended up realizing that this brought us even closer and I decided to write not about this particular situation, but to use this experience as a starting point for this song.”, reveals Fernando Daniel.
Musically, the theme marks a return to the musician’s more acoustic origins. “I felt the need to return to guitar accompaniment as the main basis for this album, that’s my origin”it says.
The official video for “Dois” is also now available, having been filmed in Ovar, the city where Fernando Daniel lives. With a script prepared by the musician himself, the video stands out for its retro aesthetic, as the song portrays a love lived between the late 1980s and early 1990s, in addition to having references to Fernando Daniel’s experiences when he was child.
“Dois” thus shows a little of what we can expect from the album “VHS Vol. 2”, which will be released at the end of the year.
Nonetheless, Fernando Daniel was the first Portuguese artist confirmed for Rock in Rio Lisboa, performing on June 16th at Palco Mundo, in a special edition that celebrates the festival’s 20th anniversary.
