Maximum alert to ensure security in FC Porto elections – Football

The elections for FC Porto’s governing bodies will take place this Saturday in a state of maximum alert to guarantee the safety of everyone involved. The scenes of violence at the November general assembly already called for special caution, but the tense climate of the campaign – with exchanges of accusations between the two main candidates, but above all with violent attacks on social media – made it mandatory to reinforce prevention measures.

The PSP will have a strong presence in the vicinity of Estádio do Dragão, where the elections are taking place. “We will have traffic regularization elements, rapid intervention teams to check and confirm regular access for members to the facilities and, from that moment on, to the interior.

The club will have private security elements. Agents will be able to go to the interior, solely and exclusively, in the case of serious disturbance of public order and upon express request from the president of the Board of the General Assembly”, explained the head of operations of the Metropolitan Command of the PSP of Porto, deputy José Ferreira, to Rádio Renascença. In addition to this patrolling, the CM knows that the ‘spotters’ will be alert to members considered problematic, especially members of the Super Dragões fan base.

For the interior of the stadium, the club hired dozens of personal security elements, who will have the mission of guaranteeing peace.
