During this week, cases of thefts involving the electricity network were recorded, which culminated in the interruption of signals on radio stations Terê FM 93.7, Rádio Teresópolis and Novo Tempo FM 96.1, all based in Teresópolis (RJ). In the interior of Bahia, individuals stole transmission equipment from 93 FM 92.9 in Alagoinhas (BA).

Located in mountain region of Rio de Janeiro, the municipality of Teresópolis recorded a criminal action in the Fazendinha neighborhood, a location used for broadcasting stations, including Terê FM, Rádio Teresópolis and Novo Tempo FM. With the theft of wires, the signal of the three radio stations was interrupted. The case was registered last Wednesday (14).

“We noticed the lack of sound, of signal from the station, from 5:40 pm. Soon after, we communicated with the other broadcasters and realized that it was a chain session, with everyone going off the air immediately. We immediately went up to the tower, where the broadcast signal comes out and we checked the situation. We even tried to reverse it at that time, but it was not viable because it was a power cable and initially we were unable to detect what had happened. We then called an electrician, who identified what happened and we followed the procedures, informing Enel to try to resolve the problem as quickly as possible”, said Radio Broadcaster Ana Paula Alves, who is also Director at Terê FM.

In the case of Novo Tempo FM, individuals stole wires from the station’s property and also damaged the power clock. The criminal action was reported at the city’s 110th Police Station.

Already in interior of Bahia, 93 FM 92.9 from Alagoinhas (BA) also had its signal suspended as a result of a criminal action. In the early hours of last Wednesday (13), individuals invaded the station’s transmission park and stole equipment used in the station’s operation.

In a statement issued via social media, 93 FM reported last Friday (15) that its signal at 92.9 FM had already been normalized.
